What is the root canal therapy process like?
Once the tooth is numbed, a rubber dam is positioned around it to maintain a dry, saliva-free environment. Subsequently, the pulp, nerve tissue, and bacteria are extracted. To seal the tooth, a permanent filling is then applied. In cases requiring additional appointments, a temporary filling might be used instead.
Usually, an additional appointment is required, usually scheduled about a week after the initial meeting. In this subsequent session, the tooth's roots and internal cavity are filled and sealed using specialized dental materials. Finally, a filling is placed to cover the opening on the top of the tooth, followed by the placement of a crown over the tooth.
