Porcelain Crowns (Caps)

A porcelain crown, often referred to as a cap, is meticulously designed to closely mimic the appearance of natural tooth enamel while providing durability and flexibility. These crowns are recommended for restoring both the form and function of a damaged tooth as they replace the entire outer portion of the tooth extending to the gum line.

Why choose Porcelain Crowns?

  • Repair teeth that are either broken or fractured
  • Enhance your smile.
  • Fix decayed teeth.
  • Fix fractured and/or unsightly fillings.
  • Restore a tooth after root canal therapy.

What is the process for Porcelain Crowns?

During your initial appointment, your dentist will take precise molds to craft your custom crown. Subsequently, a temporary crown will be created from another mold. This temporary crown will be worn for a few weeks until your next appointment.

Following the numbing of your tooth, the dentist will eliminate the decay and appropriately contour the surface to accommodate the crown. Then, the temporary crown will be affixed using temporary cement. Your dentist will ensure proper bite alignment by checking your bite.

At your second appointment, the temporary crown will be taken off. Subsequently, your dentist will cleanse your tooth thoroughly before affixing the new crown to ensure proper spacing and bite alignment.
